Supporting Canada’s Caregivers

Make the Canada Caregiver Tax Credit, a refundable tax credit to ensure all caregivers, who are overwhelmingly women, are treated equally. Increase the Family Caregiver Benefit from 15 to 27 weeks and align provincial employment standards with federal EI benefits. Enable people to care for their loved ones by expanding eligibility for the 26 weeks of Compassionate Care Benefits to include those who are critically ill. Increase support for respite care and adult day programs, and create better supports for aging in place.
