In 2018, CARP called on the federal government to increase support for Canada’s poorest seniors by making changes to the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS). The government listened. Effective July 2020, changes to the GIS will allow low-income older Canadians to take home more money while they work. These changes will provide economic respite for our poorest seniors.
